In today’s video, we’re diving into some exciting AppSumo deals that you won’t want to miss, including two that are ending soon. We’ll also take an in-depth look at Tarvent, a new all-in-one email marketing platform. Let’s get started!

Intro & SuiteDash [00:00]

SuiteDash is an incredibly comprehensive business management tool that’s currently available on AppSumo, but only for a limited time. This dense, feature-rich application offers:

  • 100% white-labeled solution
  • Custom URL functionality
  • Client portals
  • CRM with deal pipelines
  • Proposal and e-signing capabilities
  • Integrated form builder
  • Project and task management
  • File sharing
  • LMS (Learning Management System)
  • Support ticket system
  • Time tracking
  • Email and drip marketing
  • Calendar integration

And that’s just scratching the surface! While I’d love to create a series of videos covering all of SuiteDash’s features, the 15-day availability window makes that challenging.

If you’re considering purchasing SuiteDash, pay close attention to the plans and pricing. There’s a sweet spot at tier 6 (six codes) where you get significant upgrades:

  • Storage jumps from 100GB to 1TB
  • Staff limit increases from 20 to 50

For those going all-in, ten codes offer unlimited staff and 2TB of storage, but it comes at a premium price.

Viloud [02:21]

Another exciting deal ending soon is Viloud, a platform that enables you to create your own TV station or live streaming channel on the internet. Here’s a quick breakdown of the tiers:

  • Tier 1 & 2: Business plan features
  • Tier 3 and up: Premium plan features

Key features to note:

  • M3U8 output links (useful for building apps for platforms like Roku or Apple TV)
  • Ad monetization capabilities
  • Tier 10 unlocks simultaneous live feeds and one FAST (Free Ad-Supported Television) channel

Viloud is perfect for those looking to broadcast sports, news, or niche content streams.

Tarvent + Plans & Pricing [06:15]

Now, let’s focus on our main review: Tarvent, an email marketing tool that offers email marketing, marketing automation, and transactional email capabilities in one platform.

Tarvent’s pricing tiers on AppSumo are as follows:

  • Tier 1 ($69): 1,000 contacts, 1 user, 1GB storage, 90 days data storage
  • Tier 2: 3,000 contacts, 5 users, 2GB storage, 90 days data storage
  • Tier 3: 5,000 contacts, 10 users, 5GB storage, 180 days data storage, 1,000 API credits/month
  • Tier 4 & 5: Increased limits and up to 10,000 API credits/month

For this review, I purchased the Tier 1 plan to test the platform.

Onboarding [07:47]

The onboarding process for Tarvent is a bit lengthy, involving a multi-step survey. While gathering user information is understandable, it might be better to make this optional or present it after allowing users to explore the tool first.

Domain Setup [08:56]

Setting up a custom domain in Tarvent is straightforward. The process involves adding DNS records (CNAME and TXT) to your domain management system. I used Cloudflare for this demo, but you can use any DNS manager or your hosting platform.

Tarvent User Interface [10:38]

The Tarvent interface presents an onboarding checklist and various widgets on the dashboard. There’s also a unique “Tarvent Map” feature, providing a bird’s-eye view of how different components work together.

The left-hand sidebar offers easy navigation to different sections like Audience, Campaigns, and Settings.

Adding Contacts [12:05]

Adding contacts to your audience in Tarvent is simple. You can manually add contacts or import them. The platform differentiates between contacts, groups, and segments:

  • Contacts: Individual people in your list
  • Groups: Static collections of people (like traditional lists)
  • Segments: Dynamic groups based on specific criteria

Segments [14:02]

Segments in Tarvent are powerful tools for organizing your contacts based on specific criteria. For example, you could create a segment for all contacts with a particular domain in their email address. This feature can be especially useful for improving email deliverability by separating recipients based on email service providers.

Forms [16:22]

Tarvent provides pre-built forms for common actions like subscribing, unsubscribing, updating profiles, and forwarding emails to friends. You can customize these forms using the built-in form editor.

Data Fields [17:60]

Custom fields, or “data fields” in Tarvent, allow you to collect and store additional information about your contacts. You can easily create new fields and use merge tags to personalize your emails.

Imports/Exports [18:48]

Tarvent offers straightforward import and export functionalities, supporting various file formats including CSV, tab-delimited, and more. You can also paste text directly for imports.

Settings [19:41]

In the settings section, you can manage your sending email address, physical mailing address (required for compliance with laws like CAN-SPAM), and other account details.

Campaigns [20:18]

The campaign creation process in Tarvent is robust, offering various campaign types:

  • Standard campaigns with a drag-and-drop builder
  • RSS-fed campaigns
  • HTML markup campaigns
  • Plain text campaigns
  • AMP markup campaigns
  • Multi-variant (A/B testing) campaigns

The email editor provides a good balance of functionality and ease of use, though there are some areas where the user experience could be improved.

Notable features include:

  • AI assistance
  • Merge tags for personalization
  • Inbox preview (though accuracy could be improved)
  • Link checker
  • Pre-send checklist

Journeys [28:26]

Tarvent’s “Journeys” feature is their take on marketing automation. You can create various types of automated sequences, such as birthday emails, re-engagement campaigns, and more. The journey builder uses a visual flowchart-style interface.

Landing Pages [31:19]

Tarvent also includes a landing page builder. While functional, the design options and user interface for this feature could use some improvement to match the quality of more specialized landing page tools.

Conclusion [32:28]

Overall, Tarvent shows promise as an email marketing platform with some innovative features. The link checker, pre-send checklist, and journey builder are standout elements. However, there are areas where the user interface and experience could be refined.

Pros:

  • Comprehensive feature set
  • Innovative ideas like the link checker and pre-send checklist
  • Powerful segmentation capabilities
  • Visual automation builder

Cons:

  • User interface can be clunky at times
  • Some features, like the inbox preview, need improvement
  • Landing page builder is basic compared to specialized tools

Final Score: 5.7/10

Tarvent has the potential to become a strong contender in the email marketing space with some refinement and polishing of its features. It’s worth keeping an eye on as it develops further.
