Hey there, tech entrepreneurs and software enthusiasts! Dave Swift here from ClientAmp.com. Today, I’m breaking down four exciting AppSumo deals that you need to know about for September 2024. We’ll be looking at tools for online courses, AI chatbots, ad creation, and email outreach. Let’s dive into what’s worth your money and what you might want to skip.

But before we get into the reviews, I’ve got some breaking news that you won’t want to miss!

Breaking News: $5 AppSumo Deal Coming Soon! [00:00]

AppSumo, the sponsor of today’s video, is doing it again – there’s going to be another $5 deal! If you were lucky enough to grab the $5 deal for Rambox a few weeks back (or if you missed out), you know these deals tend to sell out incredibly fast.

Mark your calendars: The deal is going live on Wednesday, September 4th. As soon as it’s available on their website, I’ll drop a full tutorial showing you exactly what the deal is, how to get it, and how it works.

Don’t miss out! Make sure you’re subscribed to the channel and hit that notification bell so you can grab this deal before it’s gone.

Now, let’s get into today’s reviews!

Acadle: Online Course Platform [01:43]

Acadle is an online course platform that allows you to create and sell courses. Here’s what I found during my review:

The Good

  • User-friendly interface
  • Smooth course creation process
  • Great editor that mimics the student view
  • Built-in landing page for each course
  • Custom domain name support
  • SMTP integration for branded emails

The Not-So-Good

  • Confusing feature breakdown across different plan tiers
  • Limited customization for course landing pages
  • No easy way to export course content

Pricing and Features

  • Light branding on lower price tiers (up to tier 4)
  • White label available on higher tiers
  • Top tier (tier 10, ~$1000) includes an online community feature

User Feedback

Acadle themselves commented on my video, appreciating the detailed explanation of their deal terms. However, some users found the course selling structure confusing, as it seems you can’t sell individual courses easily.

Good news: Acadle has responded that they plan to bring single purchase options without group dependency in the future.

My Verdict

I gave Acadle a 6.9 out of 10. It’s a strong platform, especially for those on a budget who aren’t concerned about owning their platform. If they improve data portability, this score could go up significantly.

InsertChat: AI-Powered Chatbot [06:01]

InsertChat is an AI-powered tool for creating chatbots for your website. It can be trained on your own data and used for support, sales, or any other chatbot application.

The Good

  • Extensive customization options for the interface
  • Multiple AI models to choose from
  • Easy to implement on websites
  • Snappy and responsive performance

The Not-So-Good

  • Credit-based system (can’t bring your own API key)
  • Some interface elements could use better explanations

Key Features

  • Automatic data refresh for web-based training data
  • Credit-based system for AI usage
  • Multiple language support

User Feedback

Users were generally positive about InsertChat. There was interest in the reseller option (which I didn’t cover in my full review – let me know if you want a follow-up on this!).

My Verdict

I gave InsertChat a 7.9 out of 10. With some improvements to the user interface explanations and possibly a bring-your-own-key option, this could easily move into the 8+ range.

QuickAds: Ad Generation Tool [09:19]

QuickAds promises to generate both video and image-based ads by analyzing your website and products. While the concept is enticing, the execution left something to be desired.

The Good

  • Automated ad creation based on your website data
  • Generates both video and image ads

The Not-So-Good

  • Inconsistent performance
  • Cumbersome graphic editor
  • Generated ads weren’t as interesting as hoped
  • Trying to do too many things at once

My Experience

I spent nearly two days trying to get the most out of QuickAds, which is more time than I usually dedicate to a single tool. Despite this, I struggled to achieve satisfactory results.

User Feedback

Many users appreciated my honest review, noting that the screen recording helped them make their own judgments about the tool’s usefulness.

My Verdict

I gave QuickAds a 3.7 out of 10. While I never enjoy giving negative reviews, the tool’s performance and user experience left much to be desired. However, your mileage may vary depending on your specific needs and use case.

Email Sequences by Voila Norbert: Email Outreach Tool [12:38]

Email Sequences by Voila Norbert is an email outreach tool designed for cold emailing campaigns. It aims to be an all-in-one solution for email marketing.

The Good

  • Email warm-up feature included
  • Decent prospecting tool

The Not-So-Good

  • Email verification is a paid add-on (not included in the AppSumo deal)
  • Underwhelming email sequence interface
  • AI-generated text quality was not impressive

Key Features

  • Email warm-up
  • Prospecting tool
  • Email sequences (the core feature)

My Thoughts

While Email Sequences tries to be a comprehensive solution, it falls short in some areas. The prospecting tool was impressive, but the core email sequence feature felt clunky and underwhelming.

Alternative Recommendations

For those looking for specific features:

  • Email verification: Consider Reun (available on AppSumo)
  • Cold outreach: Lendlist or AutoClose
  • Email verification: ClearOut or SMTPing
  • Prospecting: FindThatLead or Murayana

My Verdict

I gave Email Sequences a 6.1 out of 10. While it offers a range of features, the execution of its core functionality left me wanting more.

Conclusion [16:23]

That wraps up our reviews for this week’s AppSumo deals. Remember, the right tool for you depends on your specific needs and use cases. What doesn’t work for me might be perfect for you, and vice versa.

I want to take a moment to address my relationship with AppSumo as a sponsor. I’m grateful to be part of their ambassador program, which allows me to monetize my reviews through affiliate links. However, this has never influenced my honesty in reviews. AppSumo has never asked me to pull back on criticism, and in fact, my honest approach seems to resonate well with both viewers and AppSumo itself.

I see AppSumo as a marketplace, similar to Amazon. A negative review of a product on AppSumo doesn’t reflect poorly on AppSumo itself, just as a negative Amazon review doesn’t make you swear off Amazon entirely. AppSumo offers a great buying experience, easy refunds, excellent customer support, and their purchase protection plan.

While not every tool on AppSumo will be a winner (running a software business is incredibly challenging), the platform gives us the opportunity to access software at great prices without monthly subscriptions. My goal is to help you identify the tools with the best chance of long-term success.
